Hey guys! Another quick weekend has flown by. Weekends are just too short for me and for the most part they are always really busy. In fact, my life is just busy, but I really wouldn’t have it any other way. The only thing I would change is if every Monday was the new Sunday. Or treated like a Sunday. Where we could have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off from work. I love having a Monday off to recoup.
This is how my weekend went:
I’m going to start with Friday…….I wasn’t even at work for a hot minute and I spilled water all down my white shirt. But, I had put a red flavor pack in my water so the water was now red and there I was…..
I’m not really sure how I missed my whole mouth. I think I was just trying to be greedy so that I could get to the ice faster. I had to put a jacket on and wear it the entire day.
Lets all just take a moment and thank God for second chances!
After working my full-time job Friday, I then had to go to my part-time job. I don’t need a part-time job but I have one. It’s a great way to bring in extra money, you know, to have multiple streams of income. I thought, celebrities all have a million jobs and a million things that they are doing. They don’t just put all of their eggs in one basket. So why should I? Lets get these coins! This little part-time job is not demanding, I don’t have any goals to meet. Plus, it’s fun. I work at a Bridal store. A few hours a week and I’m done!
After work Friday night, there is no rest for the weary. I took my man out on a date to celebrate a recent promotion he received on his job (ladies it’s okay to take our man out on dates too). So we went to the Kevin Hart comedy show. Yes, The Irresponsible Tour.
It was actually really good. I enjoyed myself. For some reasons, comedians are always funnier in person than just watching it on TV. Perhaps, it’s the atmosphere. But it was a good show. The only downside to it was you CANNOT have your cell phones out at all. You can’t text, take a picture, NOTHING. If you do, they will politely escort you out. I felt tempted several times, but didn’t have the nerve to do it. They made sure that they had enough workers to stand down each aisle and row to patrol the audience of any cell phone usage as well. I know this is a Kevin Hart doing and while I get the point at the same time I think it’s a little too much. I wish I could have taken a picture to show you guys all the workers they had there BUT I couldn’t use my phone! They made the announcement about 100 times before he even came on stage. At one point it was like, okay, the more you tell me no, the more I want to do it.
After fighting traffic and picking up the teenager from the grandparents after the show I believe we arrived back home a little after 1 AM. Talk about a full day!
Saturday was a little relaxation in the morning and then I worked a few hours at the Bridal Shop. After work it was a must that I visited my parents and my grandmother. My grandmother lives with my parents so the one stop to visit everyone at once is always nice. My family and I are close so if I don’t spend a few hours with them a week I always feel like I need to do better. It’s just a matter of making time. Once home I watched the Golden State vs Boston Celtics basketball game while I hung up clothes and chatted with the Mr.
Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I try to mentally prepare for the following week, clean, and just relax as much as possible. I skipped church this Sunday and just laid in a dark room in silence. This is when I feel mostly at peace. I love the still quietness. Sometimes I’ll find myself just typing away on my computer in the dark. The only light is the light that radiates from the computer screen. This is what happened yesterday. Later that day, I would get to finish cleaning and cook a Sunday dinner like only a Sunday dinner should be cooked (be on the lookout for how to cook the perfect steak…according to the one and only).
To eat, I return to my bed, with my breakfast tray upright and ready to be used. In bed, is where my guilty pleasure lies. I sit here and eat like only a Queen should! Because we all know I am tired from the weekend. My daughter and I watch TV together and she wasn’t feeling well so I had to treat her like a baby although she’s almost 14. You know how that goes!
Did anyone else do anything fun and exciting this weekend? Are your weekends busy or not so busy? Who all is voting for Monday’s off? Raise your hand! Finally, what are your guilty pleasures? Don’t be ashamed.
Let’s have a great week. No matter how busy it may be.
Talk to ya soon!
