Has anyone ever told you that you deserve the absolute best?
Has anyone ever told you that you are worth [it]?
If you answered NO to any of those two questions, I’m here to let you know that you are worthy of everything and you deserve the best and should always want the best for you.
I’m here to let you know that the world is yours for the taking! Whatever you want you can achieve it AND you are worthy of it!
If you’ve ever felt this way about anything, trust me, I get it and I understand. A lot of times we don’t feel as if we are worthy of very much. We have a lot of self-shame and we tend to settle for the bare minimum.
“Don’t let your set back become your identity”
But, I want to encourage and inspire those who are reading this that you deserve it all. Let’s stop settling for the crumbs because we can have the whole cake! Why not? Typically, you don’t hear someone telling you to eat the whole cake—but in this case, this is something that we all should learn to indulge in more.
We don’t have to settle in a relationship, we don’t have to settle on a job, we don’t have to settle in life, or society. You don’t even have to feel bad for putting yourself first. Period!
A lot of our settling comes from getting too comfortable and we enjoy the comfort although we’re not 100% happy. Let me remind you that after every storm, the sun will eventually shine. So even if it’s a failed relationship, once you’ve learn that you deserve better, getting over that person is a lot easier. It’s all mental and if I could do it–anyone can. I had to realize that I deserved better and I deserved the whole damn cake. I also had to realize that I wasn’t wrong for expecting a certain level of respect, honor, appreciation, and love. I’m worth that much.
If you’re frustrated with your job, do the work and apply for another one. Do it with confidence. Apply for the job that you don’t even think you are qualified for. Have a one-on-one with your manager to see what you’ll need to do to move up to the next level. I’ve found that “we” (black people) are the only race who are intimidated to ask for more money. Why is this? The Bible simply says, we have not because we ask not.
As we embark on this last quarter of the year, use these last few months to go after whatever it is that you’ve been dreaming of doing, or even slightly thinking about doing. Remember, that whatever your [IT] is–you deserve all of it. Think positive, build your self-esteem, and go for gold! Remember to eat the whole cake!
You got it girl!
